Mr. Edward Mbugua,DIG Kps receives contribution of Mr Douglas Kanja(GSU Commandant)

The Deputy Inspector General Kenya Police Service Mr. Edward Njoroge Mbugua CBS, OGW ndc (k)on Thursday  15th July 2021, presided over a fundraising  at Utumishi girls academy in Gilgil for the construction of a girls dormitory in the school.

The D.I.G said that the school is a key asset of the national police service as it plays a key role in shaping the future of the children of its members in making the whole round disciplined, responsible and focused members of the society. 

 “It is my utmost desire to see the girls’ school be a modern center of excellence.  This school is one of its kind in the whole of Nakuru County and the greater Rift Valley. It is the only school that cooks using the gas system.” Said Mr. Mbugua.

 

Mr. Mbugua who was the chief guest was accompanied by Mr. Douglas Kanja  the commandant GSU ,Mr. Richard Ngatia of ASTU, Mrs. Anne Makori of IPOA, area MP Hon. Martha Wangari, Mr. Japheth Koome who is also BOM chairperson. Also present are various formation commanders, unit commanders, directors and regional commanders.

“I want to thank all of you for your generous contributions. It is indeed true that we have our girls at heart. Let us work together for the betterment of the school, said Mr. Mbugua.

The fundraising realized 21m which was a major milestone. This fundraising was done in remembrance of his late daughter.

Mr.Mbugua is the founder of Utumishi Girls Academy.
